When Following God's Leading Doesn't Go As Planned - a New Venture...

Recently I blogged about moving into a new antique mall.
I loved my space and the timing was perfect.
Sadly - after 2 months... I was losing too much money and didn't feel
I could continue hanging on until there could be a turnaround.
But I had felt God was in it - what do I do with that?

Well....during those 2 months - a girlfriend of mine who loves to go
to auctions but has never been a 'dealer' decided to move in too.
She took a big room and is so excited about this new
venture in her life - a welcome diversion for her.
And turns out she's a 'natural' - as I knew she would be.
So perhaps following God's leading was just a stepping stone for me
and a big boost for a friend...
Maybe...

Just as I gave my notice that I'd be moving out - I received notice
from another local mall that they now had space for me.
Really?  Wasn't expecting that!  And just in time for the holidays!

It's a challenging space - with no walls.  But a quick trip to an auction
(there just 'happened' to be one down the road the very week I needed one)
yielded a tall dresser that will provide a wall illusion.
The dresser begins my booth - the little blue legged table is the end.

Once you're in the 'booth' itself - it does feel cozy...

I have big things in place - 'smalls' will come later this week hopefully...

And where might this new mall be?  It's the  Quentin Antique Shoppe.
It's super cute in a sweet little village (perfect for taking a stroll)
with a very nice historic restaurant right across the street.
And did I mention the owners are a delight?
Love her front Fall display...

How will I do here?  Again - don't know.  But I'm just loving this
journey and all the lessons and encounters along the way.
Stay tuned... we'll see how this goes...
and visit the shop's Facebook page!!

Buttons on a String...

Is there anything more perfectly charming than
old buttons?
Sold!  Thank you Julia...
I recently picked up this grouping of oldies that
someone had lovingly strung years ago.

 What black and white delight!
And available here if you so desire...

Linens & Paper Bag Albums....

Yep - I'm a linen lady.   My main 'job' at the
Mt Joy Gift and Thrift Shop
is to price the antique linens.
We get gobs of them - it's amazing.
It's a little linen heaven in my literal corner
of the shop...
I even have my own kiosk!
Today - I met the The Paper Bag Lady.  She was
shopping at 'my' kiosk.  She buys lots of 'my' linens
to use as embellishments in her one of a kind paper
bag photo albums that she creates.
Check them out...
album photos from Paper Bag Lady website

See the little doily flowers?  Yep - some of them
hail straight from my linen corner...
Don't miss her Facebook page.   I'm impressed!
  What do you think?

Scenes From Country Living Fair...

We just returned the Country Living Fair.  And let me just say -
it is by far the best such event I have ever attended and I highly recommend it.  It was huge and I came away very inspired.
For now, here are a few general scenes from the many booths...
This gal was selling pumpkins of every description.
I just loved her displays.

Lots of linens and alphabet letters of all types in this booth.

Poor gal was doing this so much her fingers started to bleed.

The Country Living 'Kitchen' where various demonstrations took place.
Yepper - I would go back!  Might wait a few years -
but it was awesome!
If you love antiquing, flea markets or just getting ideas
for projects - this fair's for you.
(Warning - Saturday was unbelievably packed with people!)

A Road Trip of Ideas...

I took a little road trip and stopped at a great marketplace
along the way.  The first thing I love about this place is that
it is a restored dilapidated old warehouse...
The inside has been turned into a village street -
lined with shops.  The shops carry everything from crafts
and antiques,  a book shop and an ice cream parlor.
There's even a huge indoor flea market.
This was one of my favorite booths...
Look at some of her ideas...
Covered lamp shades with sheet music.

A burlap lined white suitcase full of wedding decor for sale.

A cradle of pillows and white goodness
And another shop that made me smile...
Next time you're near Lewisburg, PA - I highly recommend a visit to this lovely, HUGE indoor Street of Shops.
Today's Etsy Listing
Snare Card Game - letter cards great for projects
