Spring In a Bowl - A 5 Minute Centerpiece...

This trough is most always in the center of my dining room table.
After weeks of ignoring it and the fact that it wasn't looking very 'springy' -
I finally gave it a little update with things I had laying around...

The faux wild flowers are from Dollar Tree & yard sales.
The butter pats are Quilted Nest inventory waiting to sell.

You can view them here and here.

After a 5 minute fix - this bowl definitely says 'spring' better than it did!
Seasonal decor needn't take much.  I simply had to stop and actually
'do' something rather than keep passing by this bowl day after day.

Our Spring Yard - Saturday Sightings...

I headed out to yard sales today - a very rainy day.
Upon return - I decided to capture sightings in my own yard...

After a major necessary trimming which I was sure would kill our dogwood -
I am happy to see at least some flowering this year...

I believe this mini iris is one of my favorites in my gardens.
Sadly it lasts such a very short time...

So I figure it's worth 2 pictures...

Another favorite that is here naturally is our old redbud tree.
It's hanging in there - but we should think about replacing it...

And my reward for heading out in the rain and combing yard sales under tarps?
This luscious chemise with no damage for $2.  Love!!

Now on to my Saturday at-home to-do list.
Have an awesome Earth day!  ~Joyce

Spring Sightings From My Yard Sale Morning...

It was another chilly Saturday - but community yard sales beckoned.
And tho cold - the sights were fabulous.  Sharing just a few...

Spring has surely sprung on this event venue property.
(They had a sale... I stopped - but came away empty.)

Much of my morning was spent with glimpses of our Susquehanna River.
Wish I would have taken more shots... but I was scurrying to all the sales...

In addition to a $10 Japanese Maple Tree (so excited about that one) -
these were my finds from the morning..
The Glass Float and Jadite Candle Holders will land in my shop.

And two things came from a free pile!

This Proverb will become wall decor at our summer cottage.
It's a fitting reminder for each day.

Good counsel indeed!

Spring Vignettes in Coral...

My thrift shop displays this week included a lot of coral.  Why?
Because I started with this sweet blouse and then kept going.
I'm discovering that I'm liking a bit of boho flavor more and more...

The backside of the above grouping...

I didn't have as many coral options as I would have liked -
so I went to gift bags.  I found the one sticking out of the
aqua gift bag - but it was too big when opened up.
So this 'peek-a-boo' effect was my solution to make it work...

You'll recognize the picture frame filler as being used in the
vignette 2 pictures up.    I think 'filled' frames sell better!

And by the time I got to this display - I had almost no coral left.
The 'shelf' is really a drawer organizer flipped on its side.

This mirror canister set was leftover from the previous week.
I attempted to make it 'spring-like' too.
Sorry - I didn't have time to rephotograph - so there is flash-out.

Have you any coral in your wardrobe or home?
Pull it out and enjoy!  ~Joyce

Spring and Easter Vignettes...

I have brought Spring to the dress racks at the thrift shop where
I volunteer.  This is a sampling of today's displays...

As always - working with what I can find that isn't already
in a display somewhere (I just shop the store!)

Was running out of options by the time I got to this one.
Spring is such a happy time!
And in the middle of February - we're having spring-like weather.
  It won't last - but it's kinda fun!  ~Joyce

A Spring Mantel...

The forsythia sprigs that I mentioned in this post are part of my spring mantel.

 They were my starting point.

From there - it was a matter of seeing what I already had
that would go with them.  I have very few spring things -
so that narrowed my choices.  I pulled out these chicks and then
remembered these old Victorian poem gift books...

I also remembered an antique Easter post card on a
wooden block I picked up somewhere for my gift drawer.
Haven't had occasion to gift it yet - so may as well use it...

I also usually decorate my chest coffee table.  Again - I worked
with what I could find that went with the color scheme already
developed on the mantel.  Pickin's were slim.
A few aqua Mason jars as candle holders...

...and a ring of pink berries will have to do.

Did you notice the vintage show towel with the clover damask?

Spring IS coming!

Look around and pull out some yellows, pinks, lavender
and aquas and see what you can come up with.
A chick, egg or nest or two will help too!
Would love to hear about it!  ~Joyce

Spring Things...

While Easter is just a few days away - Spring is here for much longer.
I'm loving the vintage spring things in my Etsy shop.
Allow me to share...

Anything 'garden' says spring to me.
How I adore this sweet Miniature Twig Chair...

Most seasons are all about color.  In the lavender family comes
these Quilt Patches in their wonderful vintage fabrics...

I have 2 Easter Poscard Booklets remaining - again in lavender.
These were the best looking of the lot I thought...

And wouldn't this lavender Transferware Creamer be delightful on your table
serving up pancake syrup (brunch!) or salad dressing (luncheon!)...

Aqua says 'spring' to me too.  And something about Beatrix Potter does as well.
Love this Tom Kitten Soap - still in its box.  Too cute!

This lot of Card Buttons are all in the aqua family.
Just perfectly charming and sweet...

In a recent find - among a group of medals and badges - this lovely
Lady Silk Ribbon Pinback was hiding... yep - aqua!

Pink - can't forget about pink.  Pair it with green - add some song birds -
and this Woven Cotton Tablecloth will get your Spring party going...

One more piece of pink - how about a lovely Satin Hanky Keeper...

And spring always means 'new life'.  Our Lord willing died  -
and then rose again - (unlike any other religion can claim) - for me... and for you.
that of a daughter to a man named  Jairus.

Jesus performed that healing and he's still in the
healing business my friends... I can vouch for that!

Spring - we welcome you!

Thanks for visiting... ~Joyce

A Spring Vignette...

I was inspired today by a Pinterest find by Creations by Kara.
So my family/dining room table got a new scape...
 The inspiration...

She used a lovely metal urn - I used candle holders...

...and placed them inside my thrift store terrarium find
that I've been changing out for the seasons...

A picture of my mother is included - she is wearing the right color!
(And it makes me smile to remember her life...)

Spring - how we love thee!

Have a Spring-like day my friends!  ~Joyce
