Fall Sunday Stroll...

Twas a gorgeous day in our neck of the woods for a
stroll on our local rail trail...

Come enjoy the sights with us.
(My Love and Brandey - otherwise known as 'the Dog'!!)

This one tree just 'pops' in color every year...

We passed by the local picturesque llama farm...

If you look closely - you can see the llamas lying in the open barn door...

Pretty pastures and fence lines abound...

Loved these huge horses that came to greet us...

Isn't he neat?...

Had to take a minute to remove some jaggers.
See my 'found' bittersweet?  It was just laying on the path!

Milk weed...

...and abandoned bird's nests were plentiful...

Love, love taking Fall walks.
And seeing what we can see...
How did you spend your Lord's Day?

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.
Psalm 24:1

Friday Freebies...

It was a day of freebies for me.  Let me show you.
First up - no more buying or scrounging cornstalks for fall decorating.
Turns out my zebra grass - in its dried state - works just fine.
Noted:  'Free!'...

My little fall wreath is also a 'free' project - simply made
with a few faux stems and grapevine wreath I had on hand...

Then... I stopped with my niece who sells cut flowers.
She gave me 2 bouquets that are past their prime for selling...

... but still have a few days left in them...

Plus they have some great stems for drying.  Yay!

Lastly - there was a 'free pile' down the road.  I rescued a purse and basket.
I'm looking forward to filling the basket with muffins, etc. for a gift.
Did you have any freebies in your day?
I'd love to hear about them.... ~Joyce

From a Broken Pumpkin...

This sweet little decorated autumn bottle...

...is my way of redeeming my broken pumpkin mess.

Not exactly lemonade from lemons... but a Fall accent from a fall.

Works for me!

Fall In the Hall... Errr, House....

This morning I added some Fall touches to my home.
It took me most of my morning!! thought it would be a quicker project.
I rarely have a plan.  Literally, I opened my one 'Fall' box -
then played with whatever was in there.

The top of my primitive 'china cupboard' in my Family Room.

Filling my faux wooden bowl is always fun.  I found 6 good-looking
faux apples for $1 this weekend

 So this year it holds
Dollar Tree pumpkins, apples and Sweet Annie.

The little wall basket was on my front door - but today
it's in the Family Room filled with a berry swag...

I like to change this small photo holder with a picture appropriate to the season...

Used greeting cards come in handy...

On to the Living Room...  The book pages 'Bless' banner is from last year...

...as is the sweater pumpkin...

Just throw a few pumpkins around and you're good to go...

And not a great shot - but I had this sheet music leaf garland -
so might as well use it too.

The wreath was a yard sale find from this past weekend - $2!...
(Some of the styrofoam berries were showing white - so I either removed them or turned them backwards.)

Another find from my weekend - these large gourds were 2/$1...
Had to add them to my porch wagon.
And sadly - something broke while I was playing today.
I'll show you what I did with it tomorrow.

Together In Unity...

Lake at Mount Gretna, PA
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
 Psalm 133:1

While this may sound like an easy scripture to follow...
I recognize that it can be difficult at times.
Hopefully we are truly showing honor to one another
and treating each other with love and respect.
But when we interpret scripture differently and each feel that
'our view' is the right one - that's when it can get sticky.
May God give us grace in these times too.  Let us keep studying
and have humble hearts to hear God's truth on any given subject.
And may we each do whatever His Spirit and Word teach us to do.
(His Spirit will never contradict His Word.)

Always Seeking...  ~Joyce

Saturday Sightings - Yard Sales & Old Fashioned Days...

This was one of those 'made in heaven' days.  I learned of some
yard sales along a long country road and made that my morning mission.
The first sale was at this old red barn...

They had a bunch of that chippy red barn wood for sale -
but someone was buying the whole pile when I arrived.
No!!!  Thankfully - he rejected a few boards - so 6 came home with me.
Price?  Just five!!!! cents a piece!

I oohed and aahed over the project potential and the
barn owner was all too happy to show me her project... love!

Who wouldn't pull in this lane?

I didn't buy anything - but did steal a shot of their lovely flower bed.
But I did buy lots of 'stuff' other places.

Roadside stands were plentiful.  Loved these awesome cabbage planters for sale...

And I bought some really big gourds at this one... 2/$1!
And hmmm...dried grass for fall decorating?  I like it!
Then - I wound my way to the other end of town and visited a
local event called Old Fashioned Field Days.
Turns out it was 'free' - and very well done!
My favorite display was The Wash House...

...where the youngsters could try their hand at old time laundry...

There were wagon rides...

Hit and miss engines of all types...

And lots of living history demonstrations...

I wanted to stay for lunch at this stand.
The sausage with cooked peppers and onions smelled wonderful!

And a table set with burlap?  Be still my heart...

My only purchase was some fresh roasted peanuts...

While a bluegrass gospel band played in the background...

Loved this day!  And was blessed to be able to have it.

Till next year...
