The Old Has Gone...

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!

I Couldn't Throw It Out...

It had such good lines - but was missing many original parts.
It's amazing what a paint job and a little adornment will do...
This was it's former life - but with no mirror, glass or
wooden corner embellishments...
Now - it is ready for somebody's creative art or design...
Available here.
Good lines indeed...

Recent Finds - A Pink Collection...

As is often the case - my 'finds' on any given day often seem
to go together... as if they could be vignettes themselves.
Such is the case with this week's treasures...
Yep, that's a chorus book hiding back there- in pink...
Available here
Love the detailing on the white tulip vase...
Isn't this sweet moire satin covered trash can darling?

Sour Milk and Bad Bananas...

Yes - I had both of the above in my kitchen - at the same time.
Good thing they are the perfect ingredients for Banana Cake!
I made cupcakes actually.  You don't need cupcake papers.
Just spray the pans and you're good to go...

I made these gluten free with my GF flour mixture and
a teaspoon of Xanthum Gum.

Yumminess!

Just a Few More...

Here are a few more inspiring booth shots from
Ironstone in a box w/ shredding
Sheet music bundles of lavender.
Actually, sheet music tied around anything looks good!

Love this idea - stuff some kid's jeans with
dried florals for door and more decor.
Patriotic display with red, white and blue
And last, but not least, I met Peggy - the owner of the
Sweet Granny's Country Store booth.
This gal has tireless energy - 3 booths - drives an hour
every day to update them - and has scores
of one-of-a-kind crafts among her antiques.
Some of her ideas...
Half-a-can planter
I am so inspired after this visit!  They had booth space available,
but at 2 hours away - just not sure it would be worth it.
Anyone else do a booth that far away from home?

A Road Trip of Ideas...

I took a little road trip and stopped at a great marketplace
along the way.  The first thing I love about this place is that
it is a restored dilapidated old warehouse...
The inside has been turned into a village street -
lined with shops.  The shops carry everything from crafts
and antiques,  a book shop and an ice cream parlor.
There's even a huge indoor flea market.
This was one of my favorite booths...
Look at some of her ideas...
Covered lamp shades with sheet music.

A burlap lined white suitcase full of wedding decor for sale.

A cradle of pillows and white goodness
And another shop that made me smile...
Next time you're near Lewisburg, PA - I highly recommend a visit to this lovely, HUGE indoor Street of Shops.

Retro Clutter?

Just when we thought clean, fresh, white and uncluttered was
'the look' - check out what Anthropolgie is up to this month...

Just a little retro.  Way to keep us guessing!

Table Make-Over with Homemade Mod Podge...

Yesterday I showed you the beginning of a quick project.
This table was a 'freebie' that I found along the road.
I had painted it a while ago - but it looked pretty plain.
With some decoupaged old sheet music on top -
it rises to a new level (I hope).
planning the lay-out

Finished the whole piece with a coat of poly.

The song "Others" by C. D. Meigs has such beautiful lyrics.
The first couple of verses:

Lord help me live from day to day
In such a self-forgetful way
That even when I kneel to pray
My prayer shall be for – Others.

Help me in all the work I do
To ever be sincere and true
And know that all I do for you
Must needs be done for – Others.

I used homemade Mod Podge in this project -
3 parts Elmer's (or similar) glue; 1 part water.

Favorite Find...

Had to show you my favorite find from last weekend.  Not 1 -
but 2 - old sewing pattern boxes filled with patterns!
Available in my With Propriety store.

There were quite a few unusual patterns;  coats, hats, costumes,
doll clothing, aprons, even men's ties and sleepwear.

I just love the graphics...

On another note - look what I started today!!
