More Frugal Ideas...But Not Mine...

I've been having a hard time getting any projects done or
photos taken.  Lacking time and sunshine here (insert sad face).  But here are a few ideas I spotted at the Country Living Fair
to keep us inspired...
Napkin ring ideas can be endless - stencils and rope anyone?

Burlap wrapped hangers - instant Fall appeal for your display outfits.

Loved the use of teal for Fall.

Add some lace to any skirt to make it 'yours'.

Simple enough - decoupage maps - or anything to a piece of wood.

Driveway Planters...

It's amazing where you find inspiration.  I took a walk in a
nearby development the other night and came across this
beautifully 'landscaped' driveway.  Huge towering planters right
at the entrance for passersby to enjoy!
It was dusk when I took these - so coloring is less than best.

Work With Your Hands...

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,
so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders
and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Our Grateful Tree...

This year I'm trying something new for the Fall season.
I'm hoping it will be a nice prelude to our Thanksgiving dinner.
I've placed a Grateful Tree on our dining room table for people
to add to as they feel inspired.  Family and guests alike
are invited to participate...

Tags have been provided...so far I'm the only one who has
anything to be 'thankful for'...

The rusty tin leaves were this year's purchase - 30 cents!
While I was at it - I added a few more Fall touches here and there...

Brought in bunches of Sweet Annie too!

Skirts From Vintage Fabrics...

My favorite product at the Country Living Fair - was by
Thrifty Trixie (actually Teri).  She makes adorable handmade clothing using vintage textiles of all kinds.
Just look at these adorable girls...
 in their adorable handmade skirts.
I love their whole outfits!!
Too cute huh?
Photo compliments of My Love.

Vintage Camper Love...

My absolute favorite things at the Country Living fair were a
couple of vintage campers that have been renovated and given
new life.  As we entered the fairgrounds - this darling little
lemonade stand greeted us...
Compliments of My Love - his photos are much better than mine!

I fell in love with this camper that was decorated to the 'T'
(what does that mean anyway?) - and yes - the owner said 'she
uses it regularly...
It was painted like a log cabin.

Great use of a drawer.

It's the bedding that 'got me'.
And lastly - My Love caught me looking inside a homemade teardrop camper...
I'm thinking our camper, tho not vintage, needs a make-over!
And if you like vintage campers - check out Amy's Vintage Trailers blog.

My Fall Front Porch...

I'm starting to add Fall decor to our home.  Today's project
was to get something on the front porch...
But first - I had to clear these embarrasingly overgrown
tomatoes from along our front walk...
Now at least you can see what's on the porch.  Love my old wagon...

Scenes From Country Living Fair...

We just returned the Country Living Fair.  And let me just say -
it is by far the best such event I have ever attended and I highly recommend it.  It was huge and I came away very inspired.
For now, here are a few general scenes from the many booths...
This gal was selling pumpkins of every description.
I just loved her displays.

Lots of linens and alphabet letters of all types in this booth.

Poor gal was doing this so much her fingers started to bleed.

The Country Living 'Kitchen' where various demonstrations took place.
Yepper - I would go back!  Might wait a few years -
but it was awesome!
If you love antiquing, flea markets or just getting ideas
for projects - this fair's for you.
(Warning - Saturday was unbelievably packed with people!)

Pumpkin Pillow & Heading to the CL Fair...

I played at the thrift shop today and did some Fall vignettes on top of the dress racks.  While they looked OK - they didn't photograph the best - so I have just one to show you.  But look at this adorable pumpkin pillow!  Would be easy enough to copy...

I'll be MIA for a few days.  Heading to the
Source for above 2 photos
