Spring Garden...

All the rain we have had has really made the greens 'pop' in my side garden.  Isn't it pretty?  The garden art all came from yard sales...(that would be the chicken house in the background.)
Our pink dogwood tree is always showy this time of year...
The lamp posts My Love made - we are so pleased with them...

Would love to make our whole back yard into little
outdoor 'rooms'....someday!

Free Fresh Flowers...

Walked into a greenhouse yesterday to buy some plants.  A gal was busy trimming the begonias and had a whole bucket full of blooms that she had snipped off.  I asked if I could have some.  What fun I had when I got home... some pretty glass dishes, a bit of water, and a pretty scarf.  My kitchen table never looked prettier!
Way too pretty to trash them all!
Incidentally, they didn't have the plants I wanted -
so I left with nothing but free blossoms!

Follow the Path...

I love to go treasure hunting with my camera.  We celebrated this Easter at our little summer cottage that the Lord blessed us with a few years ago.  It's situated on an old camp meeeting grounds among many other cottages.  As is customary for us - we went walking among the many trails and paths.  We're talking lots of old stones and moss.  Thought I'd share some of where we trod...
This would be me in a less than flattering shot...
And this would be my Love...
And a parting shot of the back of one of the cottages...

A Buzza Motto...

In 1907, a company was founded in Minneapolis by George Buzza.  They sold posters and greeting cards - but are best known for their mottos.  George knew that 'sentiment sells'.
If you enjoy pretty verse and poetry- Buzza mottos are a must have.  This week - my listings on eBay are themed 'For Mother'.
This lovely motto will be among the treasures...
Love that cottage illustration under a moonlit sky...
Copyright on this framed beauty is 1928.  Gotta luv a Buzza!

Pretty Kitchen Storage...

Last week I met a friend for a 'junking' day.  Her home is gorgeous and I took some pictures to share with you.  Many of her furnishings come from discount stores and yard sales.
Her taste is just so excellent you will think otherwise.
Today I'm showing you some of her creative storage ideas
in her kitchen.  Let's start with her kitchen hutch...
She keeps teas, etc. that she uses every day right out front in
pretty apothecary canisters...
She also has a pretty wall cupboard where she houses
nutritional supplements and medicines...
A 2nd small floor cupboard holds her baking supplies.
Again - note her use of pretty jars...
On top of the cupboard is a Hershey tin filled with cookie cutters...

Due to limited cupboard space - there is a pot rack in a corner
just loaded with her cooking pots and pans...
Below the rack - some baskets hold extra canned goods
that don't currently fit into cupboard space...
In these crocks - sitting right on the floor -
her potatoes and onions reside...
A view of some of her cupboard and counter space...
filled with projects in the works and other kitchen goodies...
I'm learning from her just how important baskets and pretty containers are to good looking storage.  And don't you love her 'brick' floor?  It's actually a teracota tile of some sort.
Thank you for the tour, my friend!
I'll share more from this lovely home another day.

1, 2, 3...

A quick little make-over last week.  Always looking for office organization helps...
The 'before'...
the 'after'... added some number stickers from the hardware store.  (That I already had on hand - it pays to keep some stuff.)
Now if I just remember to use it!

Risen...

Found it today and listed it today...couldn't wait!

Yellow...

In my journeys about town - I am fascinated by the different ways people do the same thing.  For example - right now daffodils are in full bloom; they are everywhere.  Yet no one plants them in just the same way or setting.   Just look at the varied beauty...

Eggs In a Bag...

The Mom's In Touch group that I pray with sometimes takes treats to our local high school district office.
As an Easter treat - I bagged up some chocolate eggs,
stitched a paper label on the top and tied with a ribbon...
They filled up my little bucket nicely.  Who doesn't love chocolate?

Message Me...

I'm inspired by all the chalkboard projects in blog land.  For years, we've had a real chalkboard in our attic crawl space (a gift from a neighbor).  Finally this weekend - it found a home...
It was originally meant to hang horizontal - but we had no wall space for that.  Hanging it vertically allows it to fit in this tiny section of wall in our kitchen.  My Love removed the original bottom shelf and cut it to fit this width and then reattached it.  Looks great!

A votive holder fits in the tray perfectly to hold the chalk.
I'm planning to try a wood fix I found today at Mamie Jane's.
Check it out!

Open...

...These are the words of him who is holy and true...
What he opens no one can shut,
and what he shuts no one can open.  I know your deeds.
See, I have placed before you an open door
that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength,
yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Saturday Sightings...

Spotted this man at a local church tying balloons in the church's front yard along our main street.  Found out later it is to advertise an Easter Egg Hunt - but for today - it just made me smile...
Did anything make you smile today?
