Vintage Camper Tree Store...

Had to take a picture of this vintage camper that is
being used as an office for a Christmas tree sales lot.
Isn't it cute?
Too bad I wasn't driving by at night when it is all lit up
(there are lights all over it)...

A Continual Feast...

the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

My Outdoor Christmas Decor...

I always dread heading out into the cold to do Christamas
decorating - but today the weather was perfect!
So for a few hours - I played.  First up - the front porch.
I  used many summer things - including this wicker planter.
The greens are long garlands - I just stuffed 'em in there.

 I accumulate inexpensive stuff over the years and
then figure out how to make it work.  My papier
mache sled cost $3 - probably should be inside...
The bushel basket is loaded with greens (branches
from an artificial tree), pinecones and a 'present'.
 Love my red laces in the ice skates - from last year.
Now the side garden.  My lamp posts...
...and garden planter with the bird bath in the background...

At my garage door - I poked a garden ornament into
a planter and added more fake tree branches...
Still need to add twinkle lights here and there -
but that will wait for another day.

My Pinterest Christmas Inspiration...

right now...(long story - but related to redoing
my office)... I'm sharing from my Pinterest Winter/Christmas board.  Enjoy...

Gratefulness...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!
Source
I could write a list a mile long of all the things
I am thankful for - but mostly, I am thankful for Jesus.
This journey called life that we are on - I would not
want to be on it without Him as my Lord and Savior.

The difficult times? - I am thankful for them.
  I'm learning to trust Him like never before.
If you're not already on this narrow path -
I'd love to have you join me.
Ask me how.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Homeroad's Find...
Susan, from Homeroad, recently posted about a couple
of cute carts or dollys that she found along the road.
She asked for suggestions as to what to do with them.
I am honored that she liked my idea...
 I like 'em!
Go check out the full post with all the
other ideas and more pictures.
This gal has a great look going on!
Recently Pinned - White Buttons...
Thought I'd share a recent pin I found on Pinterest...
(View or follow my pins by clicking on the link at the top of my sidebar)
I love to use white button in vignettes
and for photo props.
White raw rice works too - but I much prefer buttons.
Where Rust Destroys...
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy...But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Paper Ornament Idea...
Here's an easy ornament idea I spotted today.  It is
simply 2 pieces cut from brown package or
bag paper.  Between each piece is a layer of batting.
The shapes were cut using a pinking shears and the
edges were stitched through 3 layers with a
sewing machine.
The decor of the top piece could be whatever you
wish - in this case, some greens and a homespun
fabric bow are the finishing touches.
So cute!  Great for gift toppers, gift tags, your
tree, to hang from a lamp and so much more.
I think I'm gonna have to whip up some of these.
I'm thinking sheet music!
Basket of Photo Props...
We are beginning to clean out my office so that we
can 'improve' it.  But that means - piles of stuff
will be stashed away during the re-do.  Since I sell
online - I take photos of inventory almost daily.
So, I put together a basket of photo props that I
can quickly grab to enhance my photos...
 Pinecones and ornaments are always a good addition.
But I love my vintage white feather boa for softness...
 Greens always work - and lately I've been having
fun using faux straw...
Just a few samples of quick frugal additions to
enhance inventory photos...
The above items are all available in my Etsy shops -
accessed through my sidebar.
I'll talk more about the office in another post.
But trust me - an overhaul is very necessary.
Vintage China Display...
Don't you love how anything can be a Christmas vignette
if you add a few greens, ornaments or beads?  This is one
of the vignettes I put together at the thrift shop this week...
Excuse the red stickers - they are price tags
as items on display are 'for sale'.
I wanted to showcase some old china that is currently
for sale...crazing, staining and all.   Just can't help but
love the imperfections...
Unique Gift Wrapping...
Over the weekend we went to a 50th birthday party.
Gag gifts were encouraged.
(Don't worry - we got a nice gift too.)  Our gag gift had
to do with an old dot matrix printer that the birthday boy
still uses.  So... we wrapped it in some of the printer
generated paper.  Then I went to my 'stash' drawers...
 A bit of wide ric rac, a little hammer doo dad, some jute
(actually a lantern wick)...
...and a homemade tag.  I keep lots of doo dads on hand.
They make great gift ornaments.  Took all of 2 minutes.
Treasured Possession...
For you are a people holy to the LORD your God.
The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the
peoples on the face of the earth to be his people,
his treasured possession.
Framing Frames...
Frames make great 'frames' to showcase another picture
or object.  Leave them plain - with no glass or interior.
I have a vintage frame for sale right now in my
booth space - and this is it's current arrangement...
You can pick up old frames at thrift shops.
The options are endless...
Christmas Stockings From Old Clothing...
As I've mentioned before - I love fabrics.  I have a
basket of fabrics and old clothing that I keep just
because the material could live a second life.
Yesterday I felt inspired to make something out of
some of those pieces.  I was drawn to an
old denim jumper - so that was my starting point.
I added some sweater remnants and wa-la...
 I've kept a Christmas stocking pattern shape on
hand from years ago...so cutting them out was easy.
 A section of the sweater sleeves proved to be a
perfect fit for the stocking cuffs...
 ...stitched some pockets in place and added a
vintage matching button.  What do you think?
