Mattress Fluffing...

I must say - I love Pinterest for all the housekeeping
tips & ideas.  Today I freshened my mattress...
 ...following these tips from the
Wow - our whole bedroom smells amazing.
A little baking soda and some essential oil did wonders.  Can't wait to sleep on it tonight!
Not every tip I have tried has worked for me
(using cornmeal to clean a rug for example).
But this one I am proud to blog about.

Also recently 'pinned'... just 'cause it's beautiful & I love those
flowers in the old paper...

Bottle Corks & Lace...

Just a quick idea for you today -
(spotted in my friend's home)....
my friend's blog
How's that's for shabby and chic beauty?
Old lace + bottle corks in a jar = instant charm!
I'm thinking vintage lace layered with most
anything with neutral coloring will be a winner.
Thanks Esther - you're an inspiration to all of us.

Tomato Garden In A Wagon Update...

So - remember my post of my too-rustic wagon
tomato garden?  I had some wonderful ideas from you
 - thank you!  What I resorted to was painting the tires and wheels to brighten it a bit.
Then I gave everything a coat of poly.  Love how the
rusted handle turned out with that coat of poly!
It's outside and it will weather on it's on.  I just
felt it needed a little 'pop' of color to start with to
 blend with our property better.
 This is the 'before'
(for the 'original' - see the post link above.)
Sometimes we just have to keep trying...

Storing Inventory...

Those of us that sell vintage and antique goods
sometimes find ourselves in a predicament of
'too much stuff'.  Can anyone relate?  Currently my
sales are not keeping up with my 'finds'.
Something had to be done and I wasn't
ready to pack it all up and donate it to my nearest
thrift shop.  My solution? Incorporate some of these
goods into my home decor till it sells!
Submit solution #1 - Dining Room Table
I could create vignettes all day long - I love it.
It's always amazing to me how objects are able
 to blend together.

In this case there is a similar 'kitchen' type theme
 among the items...
Color is also unifying.  Here I've used light greens,
some dark reds and pops of cobalt blue.
The natural elements (wood, raffia, wicker) are
also in the same tan color scheme...
My inventory shelves can breathe a little easier...
and my spirits are happier!
Solutions #2 & 3 - ongoing...

From Etsy Store to School Play Stage...

So - I've made it to the stage...  ok - one of my
Etsy dresses did...
Maria - an 11 year old from California - was playing
Marian from The Music Man in her school play.
They had a hard time finding a dress because her
role was too 'high-age'.  Enter - Etsy... where they
found my li'l ol' dress and were able to have it
altered to fit little Maria - just in time...

It's always a treat to hear from a pleased customer.
Way to go Maria!  You did this lavender lace dress
proud.  And this Etsy seller too!
