Autumn Farmhouse Inspiraton...

This is the time of year that my thoughts turn a bit more
to the country and primitive side of the decorating scale.
Enjoy some inspiration from the files of Pinterest...
Spools are easy to come by...
Flowers, pumpkins and vases or urns.
Gourds, mixed colored candles and leaves.

Don't have a tall basket?  Use a short one.
White lights on twigs in galvanized buckets w/ pumpkins.
Branches w/ leaves in a vase.
Any metal bucket will do.

Throw forest finds in an orange bowl.
Great ideas here - I think I'd add an orange pumpkin.
Any short step ladder will do - painted or not.
For photo sources - see my Pinterest Autumn Ideas Board

And look what's growing in my garden right now...

It's 14" long and our first ever!

Teacher Dresses...

In my stash of slightly vintage clothing - I found some pieces
just perfect for the back-to-school teacher.
Gotta love the little lace collars of these dresses...

Cute in plaid...

Or how about a nice red plaid wool maxi skirt?
with a sweet little embroidered cardigan sweater...
And finally a pair of little gold trimmed black pumps...
These and more will all be appearing in my

Plants to Cultivate...

Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty...He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate...How many are your works, O LORD!  In wisdom you made them all.

Granite Dippers...

This week - Funky Junk Interiors is showcasing unique items that can be used as vases.  I thought I'd join the fun.  Actually - maybe mine are more just 'holders' - but at any rate - here ya go...

I know, I know - faux ivy...
This is my little collection on the side of my cupboard
above my kitchen sink.   Been there for years -
probably time for a change.
How about that - I just found this similar idea from

Layers for Less...

Don't you love an unexpected bargain?
I had just a few minutes to pop into a thrift store this week...
(Isn't it great?  Once an old school building...)
And this is the sign that greeted me (it was Tuesday)...
50 cents?  Are you kidding me?
Didn't have much time - but I did notice this cutey shirt...

Sweet linen fabric - photo taken right on the checkout counter.
While wearing this alone does not fit my modesty standard -
I figured it would look great layered with another thrift store
shirt that I picked up recently.  I'm loving them together...

The layered look for less - Much less!!

Pretty Jars. Labels & Salsa...

There are no prettier jars than those that contain freshly canned produce.  Today - for the first time ever -
I canned me some homemade salsa...
I already had the tomatoes and a friend gave me some
hot peppers.  All I bought were 2 green peppers
(mine didn't produce this year.)
How's that for thrifty?

And look - Ball still makes pretty lids...
The other day when I went to open my worcestershire sauce -
I was struck by the beauty of the packaging.
Lea and Perrins knows how to do it.
Could be why they've been around since1855.
I seriously did not want to destroy that lovely wrapping!

Thanks to these companies for making our kitchen chores
just a bit more enjoyable.

Jute Upholstery Webbing Ideas...

You've probably seen some of these ideas around blogland.
But here's a collection of jute webbing projects that appeal to me.  These came mostly from Etsy and Pinterest.  Supposedly you
can buy new upholstery webbing at Walmart -
but the roll I blogged about yesterday is vintage.  Yeah!

Webbing makes great trim for handmade handbags...
(for sale on Etsy)
 for pillows...
 even shower curtains...
and while I wish this photo were more close up -
love this bulletin board idea...
for photo sources and tutorials.
Do any of these appeal to you?

Prim Findings...

My yard sale scavenging over the weekend produced quite an
array of primitive finds.  Upon grouping them for this post -
I see possibilities here for some great Christmas projects.
Now to find the time...

Just look at that great old polka dot fabric!
Tomorrow I'll share some jute webbing project ideas
that I've gathered from the web...
(ha - webbing from the web...)
