Happy Booth Clutter...

Today's Photo A Day theme: 

'makes you happy'.  I could say a lot 

of things - but for the sake of this post -

let's say - 'happiness is playing in my booth'. 

 My goal is to have a happy mix of vintage 

clutter that somehow all flows together.  A booth 

that entices the shopper to step inside 'cause 

they might miss something if they don't.

 A space that says, 'now this booth looks 

interesting, there's bound to be a find in here'...

And of course - I try to keep the current

season in mind...

 It's such fun for me to rearrange my
booth - it's therapy really.

Division Flash Cards

Fruit Crate Redo...

I had a fruit crate that looked less than best - 

so I gave it a little face lift...

Before - someone had painted 2 of the sides and 

there was a coating of yucky stuff on the inside...

My solution was to prime and paint everything 

a Tiffany's blue (leftover from a previous 

project), coat with a layer of watered glaze 

and then wipe it off.

I left the ends in bare wood and just gave them 

a  layer of glaze to darken them.  (That step 

resulted in a bad smell - so I'm hoping it 

will go away.)  Otherwise - I'm liking it!

I took better ones - but I can't figure out how to 

use the red eye feature in my new editing program - 

so this one will have to do.

Vintage Outlet Covers...

One of the things I look for when I'm 'out and 

about' is vintage outlet and switch plate covers.  

It's fun to replace modern plastic ones with 

something of quality and history.  I have several replacement plates in my kitchen...

 

...and a few in my living room...

Beautiful Joe Book

Chalkboard Printing...

We had ourselves a little dinner at  

The Olive Garden and look what I spotted.  

There are on the wall was this wonderful 

framed chalkboard with the most perfect 

printing I have ever seen.  It was done by 

one of the employees - freehand!   

 

I am most impressed and want to see if it's 

even remotely possible for me to print this 

neatly on my own chalkboard...

 I'm thinking I have my work cut out for me!

We had no sun today - but there was 'light' - 

and the barren trees looked pretty against it.
