Vintage Children's Illustrations...

There was only one yard sale in my town on Saturday.
And I got there late...  Still, I found a bunch of stuff.
But the sweetest by far was a pile of children's books.
This is just some of them...
 Some have seen some love...
But aren't the illustrations just adorable?
This one's for all you Scotty Terrier fans...
And I love the winter illustrations - with children
who look like the Campbell's Kids...
I love books where almost every page could be
framed by itself.  These illustrators are unknown,
but thank you Whitman Company
for these treasured pieces.

Quick Curtain Tie Backs...

I needed some tie backs for a few thrifted curtains.
(Warmer curtains for the colder months ahead).
Using some extra fabric from another curtain -
I cut it into strips and braided it.
Sorry for the blur - no tripod at the time...
It was a quick and essentially free project.  My only
purchase was for a bag of plastic rings - thrifted at
35 cents.  I stitched them to the ends to attach to
cup hooks in the window frame.  I needed 3 cup hooks -
and that's exactly how many I had in my 'stash'.
At night time - I can simply unhook the tiebacks
and we'll be nice and cozy.

Be On Guard...

Even from your own number men will arise and
distort the truth in order to draw away disciples
after them.  So be on your guard!

Vintage Suitcases...

Yes, I do vintage suitcases.  Mine are serving as end
tables right now in my family room.  The current furn-
iture arrangement does not do the suitcases justice -
but here they are anyway.  Just to join up with the
All in shades of blue - 'cause it suits the room.
And each for just a dollar or two...
Let's take a peek inside that last one -
hidden storage you know...
(I forget what's in there)...
Oh my - old pictures I've collected over the years.
And why are they not out on display?  Hmmm....

Homemade Soap for Gifts...

I wish I could tell you that I learned to make soap and
that the soap I'm about to show you was made by me.
But the truth is - I watched/helped a friend make soap
so I could learn - and I'm still not sure I could do it.
But here's my portion of the batch - all wrapped up
for gift giving and more...
A little vintage sheet music, some red ric rac, a few old
white buttons and my glue gun - they work for me.

Linking to the White Wednesday party.
Come see all the loveliness!
