Thought I'd share a glimpse of some of my recent findings...
Twig doll furniture, an elepant planter, old lace curtains...
and this wonderful book...
'Household Wisdom' is full of homemaking tips
& the photography is amazing...
Did you know bedding should be allowed to air out daily?
In other words - wait a while before making the bed
so the mattress and linens can breathe first.
(Most of us sweat during the night.)
Store linens on a shelf or in a drawer in the room where
it will be used. This avoids an over-crowded linen closet
which can facilitate crumpling and staleness.
Bundles of lavender work great for scenting stored linens.
If you spend hours in the kitchen - you should avoid hard
surface flooring which is cold and tiring on the feet...
(looks great though doesn't it?)
Some garments and fabrics do better with hand washing.
Generally these pieces (lace, silks, wools, etc.) do not
do well with soaking...
What fun I'm going to have reading through this book.
