In Love With Linens...

I think most every vignette or corner looks better with a little 

lace or a linen of some sort.  This week I found a pretty linen 

towel for just 25 cents.  Love the red grapes motif...

Look - it even has fleur de lis damask work...

I have a small ladder hanging full of old towels - I just love 'em...

This is not it's usual spot - but was short on light today

It's White!

The time has come... time to make a change.  We've had our 

vehicle for 10 years or more.  It's dying!  

So, here's the replacement...

It's a long story why we chose this particular vehicle 

(a Chevy HHR by the way).  Let's just say - it met our needs.  

It wasn't exactly our first choice and we wouldn't have chosen 

white - but here she is and we're thankful for her.  I have to admit I've referred to her as The White Hearse - but hopefully I'll feel more adoration in a few weeks.  She is much fun to drive!

Inspiration From Books & Magazines...

Isn't it fun to go through magazines and decorating books for inspiration?  Over the weekend I picked up this book for 50 cents...

While I was not drawn to the kitchen on the cover - I found there was plenty inside to inspire me.  Seems I am drawn to painted cabinets...

Yellow and red - very cheery!

 

 

 

and kitchens that look like real people live there.  When things are too sparse - I lose interest.  Guess I'm more of a 'stuff' person than I thought.  But really - who has completely clutter free counters?

Cooking With Mulberries...

We have lots of mulberry trees bordering our backyard.  

They can be a pain (mulberries in the grass make a mess!) 

But they can also be a blessing. 

I like to use my 'free' fruit in baked oatmeal.

(Thank you my daughter for climbing up on the garage roof and picking them for me!)

What a Find!

Sometimes - ya just hit it good.  Such was the case last weekend.  Remember my 'Stay Tuned' post?  Well, this is what I wanted 

to show you...

Found this at a yard sale when we were at the cabin.  We decided 

if it fit in the Jeep - we'd haul it home.  It did!  All leather - in excellent condition and just $275.

Not that far removed from Pottery Barn's version...

We toted our garage sale honey home  - jamming all our food 

and luggage on it and around it.     

It is so comfy and I love the detailing.  Yep - I happy!

Rearrange Complete...

So - I completed my living room rearrange.  Just needed to open 

it up a smidge to make room for more seating as necessary.  

It's all the same accessories - but it's a change nonetheless.

This is one end of my living room this morning...

That wire mannequin is usually wearing whatever is currently 'for sale' on Etsy.

By tonight it will need to look different.  We have a group com-

ing Sunday evening and there is currently not enough room for 

chairs or seating in this area.  So again - stay tuned...

Unexpected Majolica Find...

Recently at a thrift shop - I purchased several planters or jardinieres.   They were found in different locations in the shop.  
To my surprise - I realized later that the one jardiniere matched 
a tall 'vase'.   Turns out it wasn't a vase at all - but the stand or 
pedestal to the jardiniere.  What a pretty summer find!

Just listed today in my eBay Shop.
