Camp Meeting...

Yesterday we went to hear my brother preach.  He lives in Costa Rica but was in our area ministering as part of  Kingdom Fellowship Weekend.  We had an amazing time worshiping with these brothers and sisters in Christ.  Services were held on the grounds of an old campmeeting from 1876 which still retains much of its original character.  I had a good time with my camera.

A Budget Kitchen in Romantic Homes...

Congratulations to Shabby French Cottage on her recent accomplishment.  Her French farm kitchen makeover was 

featured in September's edition of Romantic Homes Magazine 

as a Dream Kitchen on a Budget.  And indeed it is!  

I've admired this kitchen since she first posted about it

(the result of a bad water leak) - and now it's been published.  

Good for her - it's amazing.

Subtle Fall Displays...

At the thrift shop this week - I did a few vignettes to lead us 

into the Fall season.  Nothing too blatant - just some shades of

brown and a bit of earthy texture...

I love to throw pretty linens into my scapes.

Farmer's Market Corn on the Cob...

Do you shop at your local farmer's market?.  I do too.  

But today - I stopped at the real thing.  Some call them 

roadside stands... but when they're on the farm itself - 

it's a farmer's market at its very best.

This was the best price locally that I've seen.

  For perfect Corn on the Cob... 

1.  Bring water to a boil in a big pan  2.  Drop in ears of corn so mostly covered   3.  Return to a boil   4.  Boil for 5-7 min.
